Donald McNichol Sutherland CC (July 17, 1935 – June 20, 2024) was a Canadian actor. In a film career spanning over seven decades, Sutherland received various accolades, including two Golden Globe Awards, a Primetime Emmy Award, and a Screen Actors Guild Award, and was nominated for two Academy Awards and a BAFTA Award.
Sutherland rose to fame after starring in films including The Dirty Dozen (1967), MASH (1970), Kelly's Heroes (1970), Klute (1971), and Don't Look Now (1973). Sutherland's next big success came in the Oliver Stone film JFK (1991) where Sutherland plays the chilling role of Mister X, an anonymous source.
